A Musical Legacy...
"Miss" Jane Buchanan
has been teaching Kindermusik since it
was first introduced to the East Bay Area in 1995. She was
handpicked by the current president of Kindermusik
International to be part of this effort because of her beautiful
singing voice and her skills with young children. She has been
enriching children's lives through music for the
past ten years
and is currently a
Maestro "recognized for exceptional
service!"
Miss Jane is, of course, a Licensed Kindermusik
Educator.

Musical Background
Kindermusik brings together Miss Jane's love of music & children.
Music has always been a part of her life. Her family encouraged
her to attend and participate in many musical events at a young
age. She studied private voice under Len Brown during her high
school years and was awarded
3rd in state for high soprano at
the
Oregon State Solo Contest in 1978. She has performed
various parts in several musicals and sang professionally for
many events over the years.

A Destiny Fulfilled
Miss Jane has always loved children and has two of her own
that are now young adults.
"When I first heard about
Kindermusik, I knew it was perfect for me,"
she recalls. "My
only wish is that I had heard about it sooner for my own
children...I will feel like I have accomplished a great deal if I can
improve the lives of children through music and movement."

E-mail Miss Jane...

"Miss Jane is amazing! I strongly encourage all children to
cross paths with her and experience her talents. We LOVE
her program! Thanks!"
- David Redman

"Miss Jane is wonderful, and my kids adore her. I typed a
huge thing about her but it was too long. Feel free to email
me if you want to know details - we love her."
- Elizabeth Boegel

"Miss Jane was fantastic. Her class was so much fun for
both my daughter and I. Every week we look forward to
going to the music class. I would highly recommend Miss
Jane to anyone who is thinking of joining."
- Neha Patel

"We are looking forward to seeing [Miss Jane] again...
AJ is so funny. He goes to the stereo and points and
grunts (since he isn't talking yet), and he's telling us
he wants to listen to Miss Jane's music. When it starts
he begins to clap and tap his feet and dance around.
He will drop whatever else he is playing with to go listen
to the music. It's great to play while I'm getting dinner ready
because it totally keeps him happy and out from under
my feet! [Miss Jane does] a great thing for the kids."
- Lisa Ray

RECOMMENDATION FROM LOCAL PIANO TEACHER:
"Jane, you are someone I have admired for a few years now.
One of my friends just signed up for a class with her daughter
because I told her I cannot imagine a better introduction to
music than yours. When parents call me for piano lessons
ahead of their child's abilities, I encourage them to call you.

"Once I tell them about your program and the loyalty of your
students, they are sold. I have many of your former students
in my group piano studio. When they begin piano, they are the fastest
to pick things up of the group. You have given them
such a solid foundation that the 'scaffolding' is in place to
begin building on very quickly.

"I admire the enthusiasm that your students have for both your
program and you personally. The parents are equally
responsive. I consider it a compliment that when I tell them
something, it's a further reinforcement of
something you've already taught...

"Often times, as music educators, our world revolves around
our students. It is a treat to have peers in the 'field,'
whom I can respect and appreciate even though I don't have contact
with them.

"Thank you for your work. Thank you for your students who
move on to piano! Thanks for sharing your love of music
because it really does come full circle
in the lives of those we've both shared."
